<p>Just occurred to me that John is &#8220;约翰&#8221;, so <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Rabe">John Rabe</a> is 约翰－拉贝。There&#8217;s a Chinese movie about Rabe&#8217;s role in saving as many in Nanjing as possible called 《<a href="http://www.mtime.com/movie/69440/">拉贝日记</a>》. In 1997 Rabe&#8217;s tombstone was moved from Berlin to Nanjing in honor of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Good-Man-Nanking-Diaries-John/dp/0375701974">The Good Man of Nanking</a>&#8216;s work saving many chinese during the Japanese attack on Nanjing.</p>
