Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. — Buddha

夏天到了

Posted on 16 May 2005 by Erwin

Here’s your first Chinese lesson. It’s really simple. I’m going to try writing a new into lesson each week. We’ll see. The first line are actual Chinese characters. The second line is pinyin, phonetic guidelines for each of these characters in the mandarin dialect. Last, a simple English translation of each line.

夏天到了
xiàtiān dào le
Summer is here!

請多喝水
qǐng duō hē shuǐ
Please drink a lot of water.
 長保健康
cháng bǎo jiànkāng
Guarantees a long, healthy life.

p>So now that summer time is here: • Clean out your body, it’s made mostly of water • Save money, don’t waste money on coffee and tea • Adjust your body temperature, keep cool
